Creative Thinking Exercise (X1) - "12-inch Pizza"

For my Creative Thinking Exercise I was asked to merge and illustrate two objects. The picture above is titled "12-inch Pizza", and in it I merged a traditional turntable (which is able to play 12" vinyl LP records) with a pizza. I believe the reason that I created the drawing is because of recent hobby of collecting the music I enjoy in a physical medium, rather than solely streaming it on Apple Music, Spotify, etc. During the process of creating the drawing, the title and play on words had come to me first, so I decided to present my ideas in this way. I didn't have a certain step-by-step process when approaching it, because as you can tell, I'm not really that great of an artist when it comes to drawing. My source of inspiration for this drawing would be the turntable that I have in my room, and my constant thoughts of food. I hope you found the amalgamation of these two unrelated objects to be at least presentable, and somewhat interesting.

Thank You

Grid Art (Assignment A4) - Wu Tang Logo

For this assignment, we were asked to create a piece of art with the use of a 30 x 30 guideline, and homogenized objects to give the piece a cohesive look. To illustrate my use of the grid in a picture I combined the use of laying out 30 pieces of Corn Pops cereal on each side to give a sort of baseline or x/y axis for the piece, and the use of a digital overlay to show how my creation would fit in a computer based software. As far as inspiration would go, I drew upon and recreated the famous logo of the Wu-Tang Clan, a hip hop group with origins from Staten Island, New York. This logo has been in use for over 25 years, and has received global recognition, and is among the most famous logos still in the music industry today. After being inspired by listening to their music, I began to layout and shape these hundreds of pieces of cereal, using the grid as a guide to complete the logo. I hope that you will enjoy this peculiar approach to grid art as much as I did making it. - Max ...

FINAL - VIDEO DECONSTRUCTION - LIFE BEYOND THE STARS

Ever since I could remember, I have been fascinated with the possibility of life on planets other than Earth. This is what inspired me to choose this topic for my final video project. Throughout the video I combine the use of found footage, news reel, and special effects to make the viewer reconsider the possibility of "Life Beyond The Stars." I chose the song "Consuela" by producer ICYTWAT because his music has a ethereal, space-inspired vibe that I felt would pair very well with the visuals that I chose for the final project. I hope after viewing my short video it will spark your interest in looking to other planets and galaxies in the future. Thank You Click This Link To Watch My Video Please

Blog Post - B5 (Music Movements)

Movements: Industrial Hip Hop/Horrorcore: Ho99o9 I chose the hip hop group Ho9909 (pronounced Horror) because they combine hip hop with a traditionally aggressive hardcore punk sound palette. I believe that their work (such as United States of Horror)  really blurs the line between genres by incorporating various elements to make their music. I consider that their work fits with electronic music because of their use of various computer-generated sounds (i.e. distorted programmed bass lines), and the use of both traditional live instruments (drums, guitar). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7saY1yWyWbc Post-Punk: IDLES I chose the British post-punk band IDLES because I had heard their song Danny Nedelko  from their 2018 album Joy as an Act of Resistance. I consider that their work represents the modern take on punk music, and fits with technology because of the use spacious synth-bass sounds on the epic Colossus (from the same album). https://www.youtube.com/watc...
